The Last Lifeboat by Hazel Gaynor is under the category of historical fiction, World War II, war, life or death and survival. The book has many diverse perspectives of Lily a mother of two children who is worried about sending them off to a safer place to live and Alice an activist who strives to do good who finds herself taking care of a small portion of children. During the book the ship that was supposed to arrive safely to the British countryside suddenly faces challenges. The Last Lifeboat is all about survival and facing difficult situations during war. Although the storyline of the book was an interesting concept to read and learn about I wasn’t really captured and lost into the book and a bit of a hard time reading it. The beginning and towards the ending of the book was really good to read about, however the middle of the story was a little hard to get into compared to other parts in the book. Overall I would rate The Last Lifeboat a total of 3.5 stars.
