The Night House is written by Jo Nesbø and is written under the category of Mystery, Horror, Suspense, Supernatural, Thriller and Adult. The story is based off a troubled 14 year old boy named Richard Elauved who lives in a town called Ballantyne. Richard is the typical outcast who bullies kids and starts trouble with everyone including his close friends. One of Richards classmates, Tom who is also one of Richard’s only friend mysteriously goes missing. Everyone in town blames Richard, however Richard insists the telephone booth “ate” Tom. Shortly after Tom’s disappearance another classmate goes missing with Richard present. Richard must do everything in his power to clear his name and provide evidence for these sinister events. I really love the cover art and how it corresponds to the story (who doesn’t love a creative/fun cover??). One thing that I didn’t like was the ending I can’t explain further without spoiling the book however I can describe the ending as a little underwhelming but shocking. The Night House is twisted and a perfect Halloween book. Overall I would give The Night House by Jo Nesbø a total of 4.5 stars.
