Kaikeyi (review)

Kaikeyi is written by Vaishnavi Patel and is under the category of Fantasy, Mythology, Historical, Retellings, Adult and LGBTQ+. The story is told by Kaikeyi’s perspective and her journey through life. Kaikeyi is the only daughter of the kingdom named Kekaya. In the beginning of the story we see her growing up and learning new things/challenges. Then we see her and several other characters growth and conflicts. Specifically throughout the book we see she overcomes many obstacles and the sterotypes of women/ their place on decison making. Kaikeyi has to make several difficult decisions and sacrifices that will forever impact her life, family and legacy. This story is filled with tales about gods, goddesses, sacrifices and legacies. Overall i would give Kaikeyi by Vaishnavi Patel a total of 4.5 stars.
