The Arabian Nights: Tales of 1001 Nights, Volume 1 (review)

KatieRead

The Arabian Nights written by Antoine Galland is a collection of tales and stories during the Islamic Golden Age. All of the collective short stories of The Arabian Nights are rooted with the main plot. The main plot of The Arabian Nights is a new wife named Shahrazad who must tell her husband, King Shahrayar, a new story every night. If Shahrazad doesnt tell King Shahrayer a new story every night she will face an unfortunate fate. I would give The Arabian Nights a total of 3.80 stars. Seeing King Shahrayer’s thought process and his definition of right and wrong was jaw dropping and crazy. I really liked some of the chapters and the whole plot of the book however i felt really lost and tired of trying to finish the book. Often reading classics take longer than books now and take more thinking to read the book so i would give Arabian Nights the Benefit of the doubt.
