The plot of A History of Fear written by Luke Dumas is a young man named Grayson hale who recently moved to Scotland to discover himself as his dad did in his years. Grayson comes from a rough home surrounded by God and to always fear the devil. As Grayson grows up we see in the novel that he accumulates a fear of the devil which grows into satanophobia. Later Hales is a prime suspect for a murder he claims he didn’t do and that “the devil made him do it.” Luke Dumas’s novel is full of suspense and curiosity for the readers. the way Luke writes about Grayson and his life makes me sympathize with him despite all the evidence, witnesses and stories against him. Overall Luke Dumas novel of A History of Fear is a good book however not my ultimate favourite for a horror/ thriller genre. I would give this book a total of 4/5 stars.
