The Night Wanderer written by Drew Hayden Taylor is under the category of Horror, Vampires, Fantasy, Native-American, Canadian, Gothic and Young Adult. In the reserve called Otter Lake a young teenage girl named Tiffany Hunter lives with her grandmother and father. Throughout the novel we see Tiffany struggle with self identity, past traumas and navigating her teenage years. We see Tiffany’s life turned upside down through numerous events and more specifically having a mysterious new house tenant named Pierre L’Errant. Pierre is abnormal in various ways including physical attributes and the idea of him being a vampire. The Night Wanderer was touching to see Tiffany’s growth and I was personally connected to some of the events she overcame. Overall the novel is captivating and a fun vampire book to read. I would give The Night Wanderer a total of 5 stars.
